Personal Training at the KV YMCA

FEE-RELATED PERSONAL TRAINING

We offer a variety of personal training services for KV YMCA full members and program members who are looking for on-going guidance and support, or extra motivation and inspiration to achieve goals and get results.  Our services range from body composition testing and one-hour consults to more extensive training packages such as "Coached Workouts" and "Sports Specific Training."  We also offer "Buddy System" and Small Group Training options for cost savings.  For more info on our certifed personal trainers and all of the options we offer, please see all below, or ask for a copy of our Personal Training Brochure at the Membership Services desk.

Craig Cameron

Craig is our Wellness Director at the KV YMCA. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Community Health and has designed Nutrition and Exercise programs for all ages and fitness levels. He is ACE certified as a personal trainer along with group fitness instruction. Craig specializes in strength and conditioning and has a strong background in bodybuilding. Craig is a strong motivator and strives to reach individual and personal fitness goals.


Kim Gagne

Kim is a WITS Personal Trainer, certified YMCA Group Exercise Instructor, and Aqua Fitness Instructor. She is energetic and enjoys working with all populations.  Kim is eager to help members improve and achieve their fitness goals. From her experiences in the Y Fitness Center, Kim is a valued member of our fitness team and can improve weight loss, flexibility, and strength. 


Trish Hanley-Goodwin

Trish Hanley-Goodwin is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with 20 years of experience. She holds a Master's Degree in Exercise Science, and several group exercise instructor certifications (ACE, ISCA, AFPAI, and Lemond Cycling).  Trish loves to inspire people to move in ways that matter and make the most of their workouts, and considers it a real privilege to have the opportunity to motivate people through personal training and her "signature" group exercise classes (e.g., Masterblast, Saturday a.m.'s at the Manchester Campus.)


Brittany O'Brien

Brittany has a love for fitness and healthy living which aided her in making the decision to become a personal trainer. She is a high school field hockey coach and truly enjoys coaching people to succeed through hard work and dedication. Brittany holds a WIT's personal training certification.


Brandon Bell-Colfer

Brandon is a personal trainer who focuses on developing strength, explosion, and flexibility through standard functional weight training and cross functional workouts. He is a Group Exercise instructor at the KV YMCA and holds a WIT's personal training certification.

As a member of the KV YMCA, we highly encourage you to schedule a free equipment orientation to our Fitness Centers so you can feel confident that you will be using the cardio and strength training machines safely and effectively.  Charts for seat measurements, recommended starting weights and/or reminders on proper form are provided for a safe/effective total body training program.

Our fitness staff is also available to consult with you by appointment to determine the best combination of activities to pursue at the Y depending on your goals and your health history.  The KV YMCA also has 2 pools and offers over 75 FREE group exercise classes/week.  This can be overwhelming at first, and we would like to spend some time with you to help you sort out what would be best for you and your schedule.  Please see the Membership Services Desk or call 622-9622 to schedule an appointment today!


FREE Fitness Pre-Testing

Body Fat Testing & Girth Measurements

Instructor:

Skin fold caliper testing (3-site formula) and/or hand-held electronic testing, plus girth/tape measurements are available by private appointment. These establish a baseline for you to compare yourself to yourself over time, and are a good way to track inches lost beyond what the scale says! One time fee allows you to come back and be re-tested (we recommend no more than every three months, at the most).

 


One-Hour Consults

Ideal for those who want to make the most of their limited time under the guidance of a motivational and inspirational coach, and who want a lot of variety!  Great results when combined with your own fitness regimen.

1-Hour Coached Workouts
Geared to the client with more time in his/her schedule to train, given training goals and interests, and also for those who want coaching through both cardio activities and strength exercises, combined in their appointments.


Total Body Training Design

Best package for entry-level exercisers looking to get organized with their total body weight training program, and then be able to work out on their own.  Fee includes initial consult, fitness pre-testing, body fat/girth measurements, a "learn by doing" training session and complete program write up.  (Plan on a 2.5 hour appointment.) 

 


Sport Specific Training

Personalized and designed specifically to meet the goals of the individual athlete (high school, college level or adult recreational). May include balance and core training, flexibility, biomechanics, plyometrics, anaerobic power development and strength/ endurance components as deemed necessary.  Available in packages of 6  1-hour sessions only.

Small Goup Training

Reduce the cost of hiring a personal trainer and enjoy the camaraderie of small group training, 3-5 people max.  Workouts can include cardio, interval training, and/or strength and toning plus core floor work.

"Plyo Training" is for athletes who want to enhance their agility, foot work, vertical height, and overall performance in any chosen sport. Plyometrics were developed in Europe for track and field and are now commonplace in all organized sport training.  Join up to work on your power and endurance and be the best you can be! Small group training fees would apply (or Sport Specific Training fees for individuals).

Accomplish your goals in the soothing warmth of our 86 degree pool and the buoyancy of the water, with our certified Aquatic Personal Trainers.  If you have arthritis, osteoporosis, joint damage, and/or replacement joints and need to regain strength and range of motion, this option is for you.  Same fees apply as with our Coached Workouts (1/2-hour or 1-hour sessions).
