YOUTH USE OF FACILITY
There are some age restrictions regarding youth use of the KV YMCA facilities.
Youth ages 12 and under are only allowed in the KV YMCA when accompanied by a parent/guardian or adult 18 or over, or enrolled in a KV YMCA structured program.
Youth 13 - 14 years of age are allowed in the building, without adult supervision. For use of the Fitness Center and Aquatic's Area please read the restrictions below.
Fitness Centers:
Youth up to the age 13 must be within arms reach of a supervising adult (18 or older). Age 14 is allowed to use equipment on their own only after completing an equipment orientation by appointment with a KV YMCA staff person. Those that are 15 years of age and over may utilize the facilities alone. Equipment orientations are not required for any/all members age 15 and older but are highly encouraged.
Aquatics area:
Any child under the age of 10, or any non-swimmer, must be accompanied and within arms reach of an adult in the water. Non-swimmers must stay in the shallow end: a swim test is required for use of the deep end. A lifeguard may administer a swim test at any time if they feel it is necessary. Lap swimming in the Competition Pool is open to ages 14 and up.
Sauna:
Members 18 years of age and older, have use of the Sauna.
Gym/Racquetball Court:
Children age 13 and up may participate in the "Open Gym" activities without adult supervision. Please see "Open Gym Schedule" for current days/times available. Children ages 13 and up who are full KV YMCA members may also reserve and use the racquet ball court. Equipment may be signed out at the Membership Services Desk. Upon sign out, the staff will need to collect a personal belonging from the member to account for equipment being utilized.
Group Exercise Classes:
