CODE OF CONDUCT
Members & program participants are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times. The guidelines listed below have been developed to help make programs safe & enjoyable for all (additional rules may apply for certain programs or athletic leagues as deemed appropriate):
- Show respect for all participants & staff.
- Refrain from using foul language.
- Refrain from causing bodily harm to other participants & staff.
- Show respect for equipment, supplies & facilities.
The KV YMCA reserves the right to revoke membership privileges. Each situation will be evaluated on its own merit.
KV YMCA Youth Usage Policy:
YOUTH AGE 10 AND UNDER:
Youth age 10 and under must be directly supervised by a parent/guardian at all times while at both our facilities. For safety reasons, youth ages 10 and under are not allowed to use the Fitness Centers (with or without supervision).
OPEN SWIM TIMES in the FAMILY FUN POOL:
Youth age 10 and under or any non-swimmers must be accompanied and within arms reach of an adult in the water. These participants must wear a red wrist band while in the pool. Swimmers ages 7-11 may swim unaccompanied after they pass a swim test or are entered in the swimmers’ log as being Minnow level or equivalent. Any swimmer between the ages of 7-11 who meets the above standard (minnow level or equivalent) must have a parent or guardian in the viewing area in order to participate in pool activities, and wear a yellow wrist band. Non-swimmers must stay in shallow end and wear a red wrist band.
YOUTH AGE 11-13:
Youth age 11-13 must be directly supervised by a parent, guardian or KVYMCA staff person when utilizing the Fitness Centers. They may use the racquetball courts and participate in open gym/swim without adult supervision. (See above requirements for wrists bands for ages 7-11.)
YOUTH AGE 14-18(HIGH SCHOOL:
Youth age 14-18 may come to the Y unsupervised. They may use the racquetball courts, Fitness Centers, the gym, pools, and may participate in group exercise classes without adult supervision. Prior to use of the Fitness Centers, it is strongly suggested that all members complete an equipment orientation by appointment with a KV YMCA staff person. “Lap Swimming” in the Competition Pool is open to ages 14 and up only.
The Sauna is for use by members 18 years and older only!
